What are Cosmetic Fillers?
Cosmetic fillers are a family of highly purified injectable agents that are used to rejuvenate the face. Each product is used for different purposes or can be used in combination in some situations. They can effectively treat fine superficial lines, wrinkles, and deep folds of the face. Cosmetic fillers are also used for lip augmentation. Dr. Hynes will help you decide which filler is best for you at your cosmetic consultation.
How are Cosmetic Filler treatments performed?
Small volumes of cosmetic filler are injected directly into the areas that are to be treated. Injections are done at the Lotus Medispa and only take a few minutes. Since allergic reactions are very rare, most products do not require any skin testing and the result is instant!
What is the recovery period like?
Although there can occasionally be some minor bruising or swelling, you can return to your normal activities immediately.
How long will results last?
Most cosmetic fillers are not permanent. The shorter-acting fillers may last for six to 12 months, at which time the treatment can be repeated. Intermediate fillers last six to 12 months. Some fillers can last for many years.
What are the risks?
There are very few risks associated with cosmetic fillers and most are quite minor. Bruising, swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection site may occur, but these normally last for only a day or two.

Beautical®
Introducing the new, longer-lasting filler Beautical® 
Beautical is a temporary filler that offers similar long-lasting
effects as a permanent filler. Most temporary fillers are
effective for about six to 12 months; in contrast, the
results of treatment with Beautical are apparent for a
period of two to five years. Beautical exists in two forms:
Beautical 2 for correction of finer wrinkles and furrows
and Beautical 5 for correction of deeper furrows, folds
and facial enhancement.

Radiesse®
 The longest-lasting temporary injectable filler!
Radiesse® is composed of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. CaHA has been used clinically for over twenty years; It is used cosmetically to correct facial lines and wrinkles.
The gel carrier is gently absorbed by the body and your own collagen will form around the CaHA matrix. The CaHA is very slowly absorbed and so Radiesse® treatments can last 12 to 24 months!

Evolence®
 Evolence® is a collagen-based product that is used for lip augmentation as well as to fill facial lines and wrinkles. New technology has made it possible to prepare the collagen so that allergic reactions, though theoretically possible, are extremely rare. No skin testing is required.

Artesense®
What is Artesense®?
Artesense® is an injectable implant used for the treatment of facial wrinkles and for lip enhancement. It consists of tiny microspheres, or beads called polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) which are suspended in a collagen solution. The collagen is naturally absorbed by the body over approximately three months. Becuase the tiny beads remain permanently, the result can last for five years or more! It has been used successfully in hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
