Cosmetic Fillers

What are Cosmetic Fillers?
Cosmetic fillers are a family of highly purified injectable agents that are used to rejuvenate the face. Each product is used for different purposes or can be used in combination in some situations. They can effectively treat fine superficial lines, wrinkles, and deep folds of the face. Cosmetic fillers are also used for lip augmentation. Dr. Hynes will help you decide which filler is best for you at your cosmetic consultation.

Botox TreatmentsHow are Cosmetic Filler treatments performed?
Small volumes of cosmetic filler are injected directly into the areas that are to be treated. Injections are done at the Lotus Medispa and only take a few minutes. Since allergic reactions are very rare, most products do not require any skin testing and the result is instant!

What is the recovery period like?
Although there can occasionally be some minor bruising or swelling, you can return to your normal activities immediately.

How long will results last?

Most cosmetic fillers are not permanent. The shorter-acting fillers may last for six to 12 months, at which time the treatment can be repeated. Intermediate fillers last six to 12 months. Some fillers can last for many years.

What are the risks?

There are very few risks associated with cosmetic fillers and most are quite minor. Bruising, swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection site may occur, but these normally last for only a day or two. All risks will be carefully reviewed with you during your cosmetic consultation with Dr. Hynes.

JuvedermJuvederm® is a soft, replenishing, injectable gel, also made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring sugar found in your body. It works by giving volume to your skin to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and thinning skin. It also works to enhance and define lips, cheeks and jawline. Hyaluronic acid injections have been known to stimulate collagen production. Best of all, the results are instant and natural looking, there’s no downtime, and Juvederm® has been demonstrated to be safe for all skin tones.

The unique formulation of Juvederm® provides results that last up to one year.

RadiesseThe longest-lasting temporary injectable filler! Radiesse® is composed of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. CaHA has been used clinically for over twenty years; It is used cosmetically to correct facial lines and wrinkles.

The gel carrier is gently absorbed by the body and your own collagen will form around the CaHA matrix. The CaHA is very slowly absorbed and so Radiesse® treatments can last 12 to 24 months!

Redensity (II)

RedensityTeosyal Redensity II is a unique injectable gel specifically designed to treat the delicate and sensitive eye circle area.

What Are Eye Circles?
From the age of 30, more than 50% of women are affected and concerned about dark eye circles. The skin of the eye area is very sensitive and fragile, easily revealing the signs of fatigue or age. Eye circles appear first at the corner of the eye and then spread on the contour which makes the eye sad and tired.

What is Their Origin?
Eye circles can have different origins: fatigue, deficient microcirculation, unhealthy lifestyle, and they are often hereditary as well.

Are There Effective Treatments?
From a thorough clinical examination, we will determine the most appropriate treatment. Dr. Hynes will then discuss whether or not you are a candidate for Redensity and will discuss the best solution for you depending on the type of eye circles you have.

Redensity II Redensity II What is Teosyal Redensity II?
Teosyal Redensity II is the first dermal filler of its kind that has been developed specifically for the tear trough area to address fine lines, dark circles and deep hollows under the eyes using a technique that would allow you to return to work following your treatment. Teosyal Redensity II continues to do its work long after the treatment by providing the skin with amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins for maximum long-term results.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For best results it is recommended that 3 appointments spaced 3 weeks apart are made to see optimal results. Results are visible after the 1st Light Filling session, but the cumulative results 1 month after the 3rd Light Filling Session are the most exciting! To maintain the results of your initial 3 sessions, it is recommended to have an additional single session sometime within the following year.

What is Teosyal® PureSense Redensity [II] Eyes?
It is a Hyaluronic acid-based injectable gel specifically designed to treat the delicate and sensitive eye circle area. Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally present in the dermis giving hydration, elasticity, and firmness to the skin.

Who Can Benefit From Teosyal® PureSense Redensity [II] Eyes?
Men and woman with eye circles. The product is not suitable for pigmented dark circles neither for large malar and palpebral bags, the latter being a candidate for surgery.

Are the Results Visible?
Yes, they are visible immediately after the injection and last an average of 12 months (according to clinical study).

Are Injection Areas Painful?
The Redensity II formulation includes lidocaine, an anesthetic ensuring an optimal comfort throughout the Injection session.

Is the Skin Marked After the Injection?
Redness and slight bruising at the injection site may occur, but they are greatly reduced by the application of an ice pack after the injection.
